How to Spend an Afternoon in St. Augustine

Mar 1, 2021 | Uncategorized

Jacksonville locals know just how fortunate we are to live where most people vacation. Sure, it gets humid in the summer and a little bit touristy once in awhile. As we all know, the pros of calling 904 home certainly outweigh the cons. From Historic St. Augustine to wide-open spaces in Ocala, there’s something for everyone in northeast Florida. Here are our favorite ways to spend a day in the historic city of St Augustine.

Book a Spa Day at Casa Monica’s Poseidon Spa

It’s impossible to turn down a day of pampering at the Ancient City’s most exclusive hotel. Between your relaxing services, cozy up to the private pool for a cocktail and some relaxation. You’ll feel ready and refreshed to brave the dinner crowd for some great seafood followed by a little bar hopping.

Whether you live in the St Augustine/Jacksonville areas or you’re visiting from afar, the Casa Monica is a beautiful spot to make your home base. The hotel is in the heart of the city, which makes you walking distance to countless shops, restaurants and bars.

Boat and People Watch From the Tini Martini Bar

This little beach town is rich in history, great food and bustling bars, as every Jax local knows. So, why does this quaint destination have a spot on the top of our list? If you’re someone who had to cancel a trip to Europe or simply needs to escape to a brand new setting, St. Augustine is your spot. First stop on your visit? The famous Tini Martini Bar.

Choose from one of their many delicious martinis, and stay awhile to sip and sightsee from afar. While St. Augustine is situated only 30-to-40 minutes from the mainland, it feels like you escape to a whole different country. After a cocktail or two, enjoy a waterfront meal at St. Augustine Fish Camp and head to a local lounge for some live music.

Walk the Bridge of Lions to Escape the City Noise

Everyone needs to completely unplug once in awhile. Stroll across the bridge to a less-traveled part of the city. As you wander away from the historic city center, you’ll begin to rub elbows with the locals and discover some of their favorite hole-in-the-wall dining spots.

Don’t cross the bridge too quickly, though! Be sure to take in the beautiful boats cruising through the city. If you’re one for pictures, it doesn’t get better than a shot from the top of the bridge.

Don’t Leave the City Without a Stop at St Augustine Fish Camp!

We love Jacksonville so much, we planted five Fish Camps and two other concepts around the city. Look us up on your map while planning the trip. Find the closest location to you, then pop in for a great cocktail and coastal dining favorites

Book your reservation today to maximize your time in the city. We can’t wait to see you!
